The problem is that Stray Gods is so often not at its finest. One wrong line could have transformed the budding romance into an unspeakable tragedy, but with the right balance of emotional honesty and empathetic listening, Asterion the Minotaur and Hecate the witch walked away happy. The stage in question was inside the actors’ minds and alternated between a shoddy, makeshift replication of a Romeo and Juliet backdrop and a glamorous setup ripped straight from Beauty and the Beast. I'm sure a pacing problem and one minigame won't stop you from getting the game so go ahead and do so.The stage was set for a cow and a witch to fall in love. Overall, Dumb Ways to Die is an enjoyable experience that probably won't last you long, but it's fun while it lasts. I wish they had a system where certain minigames like the piranha one only appeared when the game itself got faster. Flicking piranhas away can take about 20 seconds when a minigame just before might've took you 2 to 4 seconds to complete. I wish I knew how to win this minigame because it'd save me a lot of frustration.Īnother minor problem I have is the fact that some minigames can be very slow (though they do get faster as your playthrough goes on). Other times, you can leave all but a smudge on the screen and you'll die. Sometimes, you can wipe about 3/4 off the screen and you'll survive. None of the minigames really stand out as bad except for the one in which a tall blue character barfs on the screen and you have to wipe it off. It's a shame you don't get to see every single minigame before you lose your three lives, but it's not a major problem. And next time, they may give you 1, 4, 9, 11, 17, 18. For example, you might see minigame 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 one playthrough and that's all you see. The minigames themselves are fun, though the game seems to pick certain ones to give you each time you play. When you reach a certain score (200, 400, 600, 800, goes in that pattern), you'll unlock a new character to see at the train station everytime you start up the game. The game wouldn't be exciting at all though, if not for the unlocking characters part of the game. Dumb Ways to Die is a fun and engaging experience that you can keep going back to for quite some time.
